Transform Shadows: A Personal Journey
Transform Shadows began as a personal journey.
After decades of struggling with food, weight, and health, Dr. Tania Lyon lost half her weight and gained something far more lasting: clarity, vitality, and a deep understanding that real, sustainable change is one of the most complex processes a person can undertake.
Drawing on her background in transformational learning and systems leadership, Tania created Transform Shadows as an educational system designed to make change more visible, livable, and learnable—for herself and for others navigating similar challenges.
Her work blends storytelling, systems thinking, and educational best practices to explore the emotional, behavioral, and neurological realities of change. From the beginning, Transform Shadows was intended to be an educational resource capable of holding the complexity of transformation with honesty and depth.
At the center of the framework is the lived experience of struggling with food, weight, and health in a world not designed for long-term success. That perspective has resonated deeply with others navigating difficult and often nonlinear change.
Through videos, courses, interviews, and writing, Tania has shared her journey and insights with people seeking a more grounded understanding of lifestyle change in the modern food environment. Her free Eat When Hungry course, video series with Doug Lisle, YouTube channel, and small values-based social media presence have reached viewers looking for depth, clarity, and resonance with a liberating—and sometimes frustrating—truth:
“I was not broken, and I am not fixed.”
Tania is currently writing a creative memoir rooted in lived experience and the system she has developed over years of study, experimentation, and reflection. It is slow, steady Saturday work—made possible by a lifelong career in education.
